SALEM, OR — We’re excited to announce a brand-new feature to help everyone gauge the performance of their teams—the 2K Online Franchise Power Rankings! Starting in week 6, you’ll be able to see where your team stands in the league as the season progresses. These rankings offer an insightful, data-driven look at team performance, beyond just wins and losses. Here’s how it all works!
What Are the Power Rankings?
The 2K Online Franchise Power Rankings are a week-by-week evaluation of every team in the league, taking into account several key factors to determine overall strength and performance. This ranking system allows you to see which teams are climbing the ladder and which are falling behind. With each advance in the league, the rankings will update dynamically to reflect the latest results.
How Are the Rankings Calculated?
The power rankings aren’t just based on a team’s win-loss record—although that’s an important part. Our system dives deeper into the data, using a combination of statistics to evaluate each team’s overall strength. Here’s what goes into the rankings:
- Total Wins: Wins are the most important factor, with each win adding significant weight to your power ranking.
- Points Differential: This measures how many points your team scores compared to how many it allows. Teams that consistently outscore their opponents will rise in the rankings, while those who allow more points than they score will drop.
- Strength of Schedule (SOS): Not all wins are created equal. Beating a strong team counts for more than beating a weaker one. Our strength of schedule calculation considers the quality of your opponents based on their win percentage, so if you’re beating tough teams, your ranking will reflect that!
- Historical Performance: Each week, we compare your current ranking with the previous one to see how much you’ve moved up or down. This lets you track your progress (or decline) throughout the season.
When Are the Rankings Updated?
The power rankings are updated every time the league advances to a new week. You can expect the rankings to shift after each set of games as teams rise and fall based on their performance.
What’s Next?
We’re just getting started! As the season continues, you’ll be able to track your team’s rank week by week. Will you climb the ladder to the top, or will your rivals surpass you? Only time (and your game performance) will tell!
Be sure to check the 2K Online Franchise Power Rankings page every week, starting next week (week 6), to see how you stack up against the rest of the league. And don’t forget—your ranking is about more than just wins; it’s about dominating on both sides of the ball and beating tough opponents.
Stay tuned for updates after each week’s games, and good luck out there!
